Core Theme: Technical Trivia, Logic & Cognitive Agility
Decode the Tech was organized as the grand finale event to conclude the 2025–26 GDG ITER tenure. Designed as a fast-paced and high-energy competition, the event moved beyond traditional coding contests and focused instead on technical awareness, logical reasoning, rapid thinking, and cognitive adaptability.
The event combined technology, creativity, and pressure-based gameplay to create an engaging competitive experience for participants.
Decode the Tech challenged participants through a series of interactive rounds that tested:
Technical fundamentals
Visual decoding abilities
Logical interpretation
Decision-making under pressure
Rather than writing code, participants had to rely on their understanding of technology concepts and their ability to think quickly in unconventional scenarios.
One of the major highlights of the event was that the entire competition platform was built completely in-house by the GDG ITER core team.
Custom interactive frontend website
Real-time scoring system
Backend architecture for response validation
Seamless round management and participant tracking
This showcased the technical capabilities and collaborative development efforts of the organizing team while delivering a smooth experience for all participants.
The event was divided into three elimination rounds, with each round increasing in complexity and pressure.
The opening round focused on foundational technical knowledge.
Participants answered multiple-choice questions based on:
Core computer science concepts
Programming fundamentals
Basic syntax understanding
General technology trivia
This round tested participants’ technical literacy and conceptual clarity.
The second round introduced a creative and visual challenge.
In this round:
Famous algorithms
Tech frameworks
Programming concepts
Technology brands
were represented entirely through combinations of emojis.
Participants had to:
Analyze visual clues
Think laterally
Decode the hidden technical references
Submit the correct answers within the time limit
This round became one of the most interactive and entertaining segments of the competition.
The final round introduced a psychological and cognitive twist.
Participants were presented with standard technical statements and questions, but instead of answering normally, they had to submit the exact opposite of the correct response.
If a statement was True, participants had to answer False
If a statement was False, participants had to answer True
The countdown-based format added intense pressure, testing:
Cognitive control
Mental adaptability
Focus under stress
Rapid decision-making ability
Decode the Tech successfully delivered:
A unique non-traditional technical competition experience
High participant engagement through interactive gameplay
A showcase of GDG ITER’s in-house development capabilities
A memorable finale event for the 2025–26 tenure
The event stood out for blending technical knowledge with creativity, psychology, and fast-paced competition mechanics.
