Algorithm Arena 1.0 was launched with a clear goal — to strengthen the DSA culture within our college community and create a consistent problem-solving environment for students at different experience levels.

The event was designed around a collaborative learning structure where participants learned, practiced, and grew together through teamwork and weekly challenges.

Event Structure

Trio System

Participants were grouped into Trios consisting of members with varying levels of DSA experience.
This structure encouraged:

• Peer learning

• Better collaboration

• Guidance from experienced members

• Consistent motivation for beginners

Clan System

To scale the learning environment effectively, multiple trios were grouped into larger teams called Clans.

• Total Clans: 9

• Trios in Each Clan: 7

• Members in Each Clan: 27

• Clan Leads: Assigned to manage coordination and progress tracking

Learning & Weekly Workflow

Every week, participants received:

• Curated DSA resources

• Topic-wise learning material

• Practice problem sets

The problem sets were divided across difficulty levels:

• Easy

• Medium

• Hard

This helped maintain balance between experienced coders and newcomers while ensuring continuous improvement for everyone.

Final Assessment

At the end of the 4-month season, participants went through a large-scale assessment to evaluate the growth and proficiency they had developed throughout the program.

• Hosted on the HackerRank platform

• Focused on real-time problem-solving and implementation skills
