Participant Information

Welcome to the Build with Gemma Hackathon. In this hackathon, participants will build a creative AI project using Google DeepMind’s open Gemma models.

Your goal is to create a working prototype that solves a real problem or improves an experience using Gemma. Projects can be web apps, mobile apps, Kaggle Notebooks, tools, assistants, multimodal apps, agents, or on-device AI demos.

What You Can Build

Participants may build projects in areas such as:

  • AI tools for students and learning

  • Local language or accessibility tools

  • Healthcare, civic engagement, or social impact apps

  • Small business or productivity tools

  • Multimodal apps using images, text, audio, or voice

  • On-device or privacy-first AI apps

  • AI agents that use tools or APIs

Gemma must be core to your project. Projects that do not use Gemma will not be eligible for judging.
