About this event

Join us for the Build with Gemma Hackathon, a one-day community hackathon where developers, students, and AI enthusiasts will build creative applications using Google’s open Gemma models.

This event is designed for hands-on learning, rapid prototyping, and collaboration. Participants will form teams, choose a problem to solve, and build an AI-powered project such as a chatbot, learning tool, multimodal app, local language solution, productivity assistant, or agentic AI workflow using Gemma.

Throughout the hackathon, teams will work toward creating a functional prototype, documenting their approach, and submitting their project through Kaggle Writeups. Submissions will be evaluated based on effective Gemma integration, innovation and impact, prototype functionality, and clarity of presentation.

What to expect:

  • Hands-on AI building with Gemma models

  • Team-based project development

  • Guidance, resources, and support during the hackathon

  • Final demos and project presentations

  • Judging based on creativity, impact, functionality, and technical implementation

Submission requirements:

  • Working demo or prototype

  • Kaggle Writeup explaining the project and how Gemma was used

  • Public code repository or Kaggle Notebook

Whether you are new to AI or already building with machine learning tools, this hackathon is a great opportunity to learn, experiment, collaborate, and showcase your skills with the developer community.

Bw ready with your laptop, your ideas, and your curiosity. Let’s build something meaningful with Gemma!
