What you'll learn:

You'll start by understanding the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and how machine learning fits as the most prevalent subset of AI. You'll discover what makes machine learning special: its ability to make inferences and predictions from data, learn patterns without being explicitly programmed, and improve through experience.

Next, you'll explore the three major types of machine learning: supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning. You'll understand when to use each approach and see real-world examples of how they solve different problems.

Then, we'll walk through the complete machine learning workflow: from preparing training data and selecting features, to building models, evaluating their performance, and making predictions. You'll learn about the critical role of high-quality data and how the interdisciplinary mix of statistics and computer science powers modern ML systems.
