Web Security: How Websites Break

Ever wondered how hackers actually break into websites? Tonight we'll show you and let you try it yourself.

We're covering the four most common web vulnerabilities:

IDOR: accessing data you're not supposed to see by changing a number in the URL

Cookie Manipulation: editing your browser's cookies to become admin

XSS (Cross-Site Scripting): injecting code into a website

SQL Injection: bypassing login forms with a single line of text

You'll be exploiting real challenges on picoCTF and Google's XSS Game.

What you need:

A laptop with Chrome

Your picoCTF account (create one at picoctf.org if you haven't)

Your Day 1 handout (but don't worry if you missed Day 1 — you can still follow along)
