This was a discussion-driven session centered on reviewing and critically analyzing participants’ sketch tasks, where each student translated an idea for an advertisement, product, or poster into a visual concept on paper. The focus was not only on the final output, but on the thinking process behind each sketch.
The session emphasized sketching as a fundamental pre-digital stage — the primary tool for transferring ideas from the mind onto paper and visualizing imagined scenes before moving into digital production. It reinforced the idea that strong design execution begins with clear conceptual structuring.
Through open discussion and in-depth analysis, we explored key design principles such as spatial awareness, proportion, element hierarchy and sizing, balance, and shadow placement. Each participant briefly presented their concept, strengthening the link between idea and visual representation, while developing clearer communication, intentional design thinking, and stronger creative confidence.
