About this event

Progressive Web Apps are experiences that combine the best of the web and the best of apps. As the user progressively builds a relationship with the App over time, it becomes more and more powerful -- behaving more and more like a native app.  A PWA can have an icon on the home screen, and can send push notifications.  It loads quickly, even on flaky networks, and presents a top-level, full screen experience.

A Progressive Web App Dev Summit was held in Amsterdam on June 20, where the movers and shakers in the field discussed standards and best practices, and introduced the concepts for those new to the technology. We'll watch a couple of the presentations from the summit [candidates: 1, 2, 3, 4], then jump in with a code lab and build a basic Progressive Web App. If time allows, we'll run a second more advanced code lab. Attendees interested in participating in the code labs should bring their laptops.

Because we're holding this meeting in cooperation with NashJS, we ask that you RSVP on their event site, so we have a single place to get a head count.

THERE WILL BE SWAG and a raffle. Details to come...
