Kathmandu University Mathematics Students’ Club (KUMSC) in collaboration with GDG Kathmandu, presents Build with Gemma: Margadarshan, a focused, 12-hour, in-person hackathon under Google’s Build with Gemma initiative.

The event will bring together more than 60 student developers, designers, and AI enthusiasts to build practical solutions using Gemma. Teams will focus on challenges relevant to Nepal, particularly Nepali-language accessibility and route intelligence for the country’s unique terrain.

Participants will receive guidance from mentors, build a functional prototype, present their solution through a live demonstration, and prepare a Kaggle write-up documenting their approach and results.

Hackathon Tracks

Language Accessibility
Build NLP and Devanagari-script tools that make digital information and services more accessible across Nepali languages.

Route Intelligence
Develop GIS, logistics, navigation, or spatial-reasoning solutions designed for Nepal’s geographic and transportation challenges.
