Part 2 | Build It, Guard It, Ship It: Building Secure AI Apps with Gemini, Model Armor & Cloud Run

Building AI applications is easy.

Building AI applications securely is a completely different challenge.

In this hands-on session, UV will walk through building a real AI chat application using Gemini, demonstrate common attacks such as prompt injection and system prompt hijacking, and show how Google Cloud Model Armor can protect both prompts and responses, regardless of which model you're using.

You'll then containerise the application and deploy it to Cloud Run, giving you a complete end-to-end workflow for taking an AI application from development to production.

During this session you'll learn how to:

• Build an AI chat application using Gemini

• Understand prompt injection and system prompt hijacking attacks

• Protect AI applications using Google Cloud Model Armor

• Containerise and deploy applications to Cloud Run

• Learn production-ready security patterns for LLM applications

💻 Bringing a laptop is optional. UV will guide everyone through the workshop live, so you can still follow along without one.

The codebase and step-by-step guide will also be shared after the event, so you can complete the workshop at your own pace.
