About this event

International Womens Day (IWD) 2019 aims on innovative ways in which we can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in areas of social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructures. It is against this background to borrow and integrate approaches and new solutions in addressing women most pressing issues towards protection and particularly when it comes to advancing gender equality and empowerment of women and girls in today’s changing world of tech work. Innovation and technology are providing unprecedented opportunities yet trends and data indicate a growing gender digital divide gap in Science , Technology , Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). This is preventing many from developing and influencing gender responsive innovations to achieve trans-formative gains in society.

We will show case innovate technology leaders who are designing and building smart tools in the fight to end all forms of violence against women and girls.

IWD 2019 will have discussions involving industry leaders, game changing startups, social entrepreneurs, gender equality activists, innovator and women Techmakers to examine the ways in which innovation can remove barriers accelerate progress for women and girls pursuing in STEM careers.
