Google I/O is Google's yearly Developer Conference -and at Google I/O 2018 (https://events.google.com/io/) we are expected to learn about new and interesting things from Google, interesting for us developers, IT geeks and techies.
A Google I/O extended (https://events.google.com/io/extended/) event is an extension of the event, a great opportunity to get together, chat, listen to the keynotes, discuss further. Google I/O Extended are taking place across the globe, at the same time or around the time of Google I/O.
Of course we from GDG Düsseldorf - #GDGDUS - do the same!
Come and join us for our Google I/O extended on the first day of Google I/O, May 8 (the whole conference runs May 8-10, but the I/O Extended event is limited to one evening).
This year we are again at Trivago #trivago, who has offered to sponsor with location - thank you for that!
ATTENTION: Only when you are listed in meetup as "attending", you are able to enter the event. This is because of security reasons. So if you bring frieds, be sure he accepted via meetup.
Just like before we have a bunch of other activities planned so come and join us, learn more about GDG Düsseldorf, talk tech, and learn what news Google wants us to hear for 2018.
Space is limited, so make sure you sign up!
KEYNOTES starts at 19:00 sharp - we will watch the live stream from Google I/O in Mountain View.
However we open the doors for the main event already at 18:00. The event itself is on the 10th floor.
BRING your laptop, we'll be going through some code labs and there will be time for questions (of course you can come just for the networking and I/O keynotes as well, if you don't feel like bringing the laptop.)
After the Keynotes there will be time to mingle, discuss what was presented in the keynotes from Google, and much more - of course we'll have both food and drinks.
Remember to keep your RSVP up to date - cancel your attendance if you cannot make it, so someone else can join instead.
You can respond for you + one additional person - but if your friend/colleague isn't joining in the end, remember to remove the +1.
A waiting list is available. It is automatic, which means if the event is full but someone cancels, the people on the waiting list will automatically be moved to "attending" - so if you don't get a space but are waitlisted, remember to keep an eye on the mail and on the Meetup website.
A big THANK YOU goes to trivago (https://www.trivago.de/) who provides the location and more for this special event!
Thank you also to our other sponsors who have been and are sponsoring with all kind of things at all kinds of events - it is amazing to see the engagement from everyone.
NOTICE! We are still planning for and preparing this event so information might be updated. Stay tuned!
A SEPARATE event, with limited space will start earlier in the day, for those who happen to be free and want to start early with code labs. Stay tuned and keep an eye on Meetup to find out more! The smaller group joins the rest when the bigger event starts.
