About this event

What if two strangers could shout a conversation to each other across a crowded room where everyone could hear them but nobody could understand what they were saying. Is this even possible? The surprising answer is yes. This talk teaches you how without any complicated maths - if you can convert between 12h and 24h clocks then you can understand it. This is the trick that lets your browser and a website agree on a secret encryption key while the internet can listen in.

If you're not technical, you'll leave understanding what a "secure connection" actually involves. If you're a developer, you'll learn about the implementation of tools you've used a thousand times but never looked inside.
