About this event

The final event in our series for the Security & Identity Fundamentals quest covers two exciting and relevant topics.  Securing data and knowing how to check the audit logs related to that data is covered first, then we will set up an isolated Kubernetes cluster that is not accessible from the internet.

At this event you will get to practice working with both Key Management Storage and Kubernetes clusters, hands-on.

This week's hands-on labs:

Getting Started with Cloud KMS

In this lab you'll work with advanced features of Google Cloud Security and Privacy APIs, including setting up a secure Cloud Storage bucket, managing keys and encrypted data using Key Management Storage, and viewing Cloud Storage audit logs.

Setting up a Private Kubernetes Cluster

Hands-on lab for creating a private cluster in the cloud environment. In a private cluster, nodes do not have public IP addresses, so your workloads run in an environment that is isolated from the Internet. Prerequisites: Experience with Kubernetes Clusters, and CIDR-range IP address.

You'll work through Google Cloud labs to get hands-on experience and when you complete each whole quest, you earn a badge for your LinkedIn!

With the help of great volunteers, Jeff Williams (Google Tech Lead - UC Berkeley) and Elaine Chan (CS - Western Michigan University) lead the group through weekly events using Qwiklabs to help you learn more about Cloud Computing and running your projects on Google servers in the cloud.

Invite a friend who could benefit, and we'll be happy to help them also get access to qwiklabs.com and to help them get started

Don't miss out on the fun on Wednesdays as we learn cloud computing skills, one week at a time, with a goal of helping you level up!
