Talks

Talk 1: Code that Lasts - Clean Architecture for Flutter

Every great app stands on the foundation of great architecture. Yet, as projects grow, even the best intentions can give way to tangled code and unpredictable systems. In this session, we’ll explore how Clean Architecture can transform your Flutter development, from scattered logic into a beautifully layered, maintainable, and scalable structure.

Join us as we break down each layer, Core, Domain, Data, and Features, to uncover how clear separation of responsibilities can make your codebase more testable, predictable, and collaboration-friendly. Through practical examples and real-world insights, you’ll gain a solid understanding of how to build apps that not only perform well today but remain elegant and adaptable tomorrow.

Expect practical takeaways on:

  • Structuring Flutter apps with Clean Architecture principles

  • Managing complexity across multiple features and teams

  • Designing code that is easy to scale, test, and maintain

By the end, you’ll walk away with a refreshed perspective on architecture and the confidence to build apps that truly last.

With over seven years of experience in crafting high-performance, maintainable systems, he’s known for his deep understanding of Clean Architecture, Flutter, and scalable software design.

Manish combines technical excellence with a genuine passion for elegant code and user experience. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring emerging technologies, experimenting with creative projects, and sharing his learnings with the broader developer community, always driven by a belief that clarity in architecture leads to creativity in engineering.

Talk 2: Exploring Australia’s Electricity Market with Databricks on GCP

Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM) supports the interconnected east-coast grid forming the world’s longest interconnected power system - from Port Douglas in Queensland to Port Lincoln in South Australia - a distance of around 5,000 kilometres. This vast system is undergoing a rapid transformation with the growth of renewable energy, offering a unique look into the complex dynamics of modern electricity generation and flow.

In this session, we’ll dive deep into how data from Australia’s electricity market can be harnessed to better understand the evolving balance between traditional and renewable energy sources. You’ll see how web data can be extracted, processed, and visualised using Databricks on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) combining the scalability of Apache Spark, the flexibility of the Delta Lake format, and the robustness of Medallion Architecture.

Expect to learn:

  • How to build an end-to-end data pipeline for energy insights

  • How data engineering tools and architectures bring clarity to complex energy systems

  • How modern cloud technologies help visualise and optimise Australia’s energy flow

This session will appeal to anyone passionate about data engineering, cloud architecture, and energy analytics, and eager to see how data can drive smarter, more sustainable systems.
