About this event

Hi Cloud enthusiasts!

We are happy to invite you to our first GDG Cloud Poznań meetup!
Due to coronavirus we had to adjust the plans a bit, but now we’re ready to go.
For the first, inauguration webinar, we have invited experts from our Poznań companies. There will be Scott Holman, Ricardo Cordeiro and Arvind Clement from GFT and Jonathan Bonnaud from STX Next.
Both presentations will be held in English.

1. Scott, Ricardo and Arvind will present you with “Tranquility Base - Datacenter-as-a-Code”

Using the experience from multiple cloud migration projects, across multiple cloud vendors, we created Tranquility Base to accelerate your first cloud deployment, making your Google, AWS or Azure environment ready for application migration. Best practice knowledge is baked into the code, to enable you to confidently move your migrations at pace whilst keeping full compliance and control. Application patterns, gained from many successful projects, are coded into the platform allowing development teams to select repeatable deployments from a self-service portal.
Guys will walk you through the Landing Zone and its components, Activator - the way for immutable infrastructure deployment, and the GKE Terraform code behind CIS GKE benchmark.

Ricardo is Lead GCP Architect at GFT with deep understanding of many GCP services. Arvind is Lead DevOps Architect at GFT that lead and delivered multitude of DevOps projects automating software deployments. Scott – UK Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Capability Lead – leads team of Cloud Architects, and Engineers that design, and delivery hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions. All experienced especially in projects for global financial services institutions.

2. Jonathan Bonnaud will show you how to “Build a data processing pipeline using GCP services”
In this presentation he will talk about taking advantage of GCP services to build a data processing pipeline. Using the GCP integrated Apache Airflow as the main scheduler and workflow manager to orchestrate data processing jobs executed in different GCP services like Dataproc, Cloud Functions, and more. He will explain how to choose between all the different services proposed on GCP and how we take advantage of them.

Jonathan is a Data Engineer at STX Next and loves working with data: process it, clean it and learn new things about it. He’s also interested in Machine Learning and especially Natural Language Processing. He’s been working on different data-centric projects across e-commerce website, search engine, recommendation system, just to name a few.

The venue details are already there so RSVP:)!
