About this event

Golang is a programming language created by Google in 2009. With Go celebrating its 13th birthday (https://go.dev/blog/13years) we are going to host an event showcasing how it is a great choice for a general-purpose programming language for cloud-native environments. In this event we'll be covering:


- What is Go? A language overview

- Pros & Cons of Go

- Notable projects that use Go

- Why Go is a great candidate for cloud-native development

- Why go is an ideal language for Google Cloud development

- How to optimize Go for running in the Cloud

- Great learning resources



To keep things as safe as possible, we’re working within Indy Hall’s current COVID policies which include:

- You must provide proof of full vaccination (including booster). Digital photos and paper cards are both accepted.

- While full vaccination is required, mask wearing is welcome but optional in all indoor spaces.

- If you discover that you have been exposed to COVID, you may not attend for 7 days after the exposure (regardless of symptoms).
