Agenda (WIP):
-------------------
✅ Talk 1: "How to be a good Ally", Samantha Floreani, Code Like a Girl
You've probably heard the phrase 'Women in Tech' being thrown around a lot recently. More and more people are speaking up about the issue of under-represented groups in the tech industry, and the need for more diversity and inclusion. While we've seen statistics creeping up slowly, we've still got a long way to go before we reach equal representation of women and girls across all areas of tech.
As Program Director, Sam plays a key role in Code Like a Girl's mission: to provide girls and women with the confidence, tools, knowledge and support to enter and flourish in the world of coding. But CLG's goal will never be reached without strong allies in the tech industry. Come along to hear Sam talk about Code Like a Girl's work, the issues they're trying to tackle in the tech industry and why they matter for everyone (not just women!), and some tips for how to be a good ally - just in time for International Women's Day.
✅ Talk 2: Elma O'Sullivan-Greene, ANZ
Let's Celebrate International Women's day by showcasing some of the women involved in many of the GCP flagship products!
Plus, tales from the front on establishing google cloud platform based digital transformation in a highly-regulated large corporate setting.
Elma O'Sullivan-Greene is a Data Scientist at ANZ, where she develops production level insights apps and digital process transformation systems on Google Cloud Platforms. Elma's previous roles include working in big data research for biomedical applications at the University of Melbourne and working as an electronic circuit design engineer for a tech start up in Ireland.
