About this event

Join us for our first Google Cloud meetup of 2019! To kick off the new year, we're going to try a different venue to mix things up a bit. Our good friends over at Kasna (https://kasna.com.au/) have a pretty sweet community space, and they've kindly offered to let us try it out for our February event.

Doors open for drinks at 17:30, and talks will kickoff at 18:00. There will also be pizza, and when the talks finish up there'll be more time for drinks and networking.

Look forward to seeing you then.

Agenda (WIP):
-------------------

✅ Talk 1: "Conversation With Your Application - Using Dialogflow and CloudFunctions", Cliffano Subagio @ Shine Solutions

Let's have a look at Dialogflow and CloudFunctions as the solution for adding voice and chat interface to your applications. Cliffano will also introduce Convo, an open source library that he recently wrote in order to simplify some Dialogflow usage patterns.

Cliffano is a senior consultant at Shine Solutions. He has been working on various cloud infrastructure projects within the past few years. He first tried talking to an application in 2011 and was glad to discover the earlier incarnation of Dialogflow five years later.

✅ Talk 2: "Spring Cloud GCP", Pas Apicella @ Pivotal

What is Spring Cloud GCP? Why does it exist and what can I do with it. In this talk we will cover the basics of this Spring Cloud GCP project and do a live coding demo showing it in action

Pas Apicella is a Advisory Platform Architect at Pivotal where Pivotal's Spring and Pivotal Cloud Foundry, combined with our unique approach to agile development and continuous delivery, are transforming how the world builds software. He has code contributed to OSS CF Projects at Pivotal and constantly blogs about Pivotal Cloud Foundry
and Spring where time permits. He graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Computer Science and since then has worked for companies such as Oracle, VMware and IBM in various roles.
