We’ll begin with text and follow its journey through tokens, vectors, and contextual representations. Through practical experiments, you’ll discover how embeddings capture relationships between words and sentences, how semantic search works, and why vector similarity sometimes produces surprising or incorrect results.

Rather than treating embeddings as magic, we’ll build an intuitive understanding of the ideas that power many modern AI applications.

What You Can Expect

From Text to Vectors: Understand how token IDs become embedding vectors and how context changes their meaning.

The Geometry of Meaning: Explore vector spaces, cosine similarity, clustering, and contextual representations.

Semantic Search and Retrieval: Build the foundations of a semantic search system.

Breaking Embeddings: Examine failure cases involving negation, numbers, versions, identifiers, and exact terminology.

Hands-on Experiments: Predict results, run code, investigate surprises, and find the limitations yourself.
