Are you ready to turn bleeding-edge AI security concepts into real-world defensive tools?
Whether you are fresh off the insights from the Google Cloud Security Forum Hong Kong on July 15, or a developer eager to explore the capabilities of open-source AI, this hands-on sprint is for you. Join GDG Cloud Hong Kong on Saturday, July 25, 2026, for an intensive day of collaborative hacking, learning, and building with Googleβs latest open-weights model: Gemma 4.
During this day-long developer sprint, your mission is to leverage the advanced reasoning capabilities of Gemma 4 to build next-generation cybersecurity defenses. Together with your team, you will design and deploy critical Blue Team solutions, such as:
Autonomous Threat-Hunting Agents: Architect intelligent, self-directed agents capable of analyzing system behavior and identifying potential threats in real-time.
Multimodal Architecture Analyzers: Build AI tools that can ingest complex network infrastructure diagrams and cloud-access logs to predict, detect, and neutralize multi-cloud attack vectors.
Think you need a Ph.D. in machine learning or years of LLM fine-tuning experience to make an impact? Think again. We are completely lowering the barrier to entry so passionate developers of all backgrounds can participate.
To help you succeed, we provide:
On-Site Cloud Resources: Get direct access to the infrastructure and compute power needed to deploy and experiment with Gemma 4 models.
Expert Mentorship: Learn directly from Google Developer Experts (GDEs), industry professionals, and our experienced GDG team members who will be on-site to help you debug and structure your solutions.
Thanks to our sponsors, we are offering a total cash prize pool of $2,000 USD distributed across five distinct tiers, alongside cloud credits and credentials to accelerate your developer journey:

The judging process is designed to be swift and impactful, reflecting the rapid 1-day sprint format of this event. Our panel of experts will evaluate your submissions based on how effectively you utilize Gemma 4 models to build innovative and practical applications.
Rather than expecting production-ready polish, judges will focus on the core functionality, creativity, and real-world impact of your prototypes. Below is the official scoring rubric that will be used to evaluate each Kaggle Writeup and accompanying demo:
Criteria DescriptionPoints / Weight
Gemma Integration Did they effectively utilize Gemma 4? Is the model core to the solution?0 - 30 Points (30%)
Innovation & Impact Does the app solve a meaningful problem? Is the approach creative and relevant?0 - 30 Points (30%)
Functionality Does the prototype actually work? Is the demo convincing?0 - 20 Points (20%)
