GDG Cloud Hong Kong Session: Let's build and deploy an MCP server on Cloud Run

Join Alex Sze for an immersive, hands-on workshop designed to take you from concept to deployment in the world of AI agents. In this workshop, you will build and deploy a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and connect to the remote MCP server from Gemini CLI.

Participants will follow a practical use case—creating a zoo MCP server—to learn the fundamentals of MCP workflows. You will learn how to use FastMCP to create a zoo Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that has two tools: get_animals_by_species and get_animal_details. FastMCP provides a quick, Pythonic way to build MCP servers and clients. Finally, we will cover the critical step of Connect to your secure MCP server endpoint from Gemini CLI.
