About this event

A Kotlin Mini Hackathon by Kotlin User Group Chennai

Build. Ship. Demo.

Get ready for a day of building, hacking, and shipping at Shipaton: Road to DevFest — Kotlin Edition — an in-person mini hackathon bringing together Kotlin developers, Android engineers, KMP enthusiasts, and builders from the Chennai developer community.

Organized by Kotlin User Group Chennai, in collaboration with RevenueCat and GDG Chennai, with JetBrains as our partner.

🌍 Part of Shipaton 2026

This event is part of the wider Shipaton 2026 hackathon, a global online hackathon running through August and September 2026.

Shipaton is all about building and shipping real apps. The Chennai edition is a local, in-person opportunity to build alongside the community, collaborate with fellow developers, and turn your ideas into something you can actually demo.

You can participate in both the Chennai mini hackathon and the wider online Shipaton hackathon.

Build your project with us on September 26th, continue working on it afterward, and submit it to the wider Shipaton hackathon before the submission deadline.

🟣 Why Kotlin?

This edition puts Kotlin and the modern Kotlin ecosystem at the centre of the experience.

Explore and build with:

  • Kotlin Multiplatform

  • Compose Multiplatform
