Android is undergoing a full-stack AI transformation, and this session will walk developers through the latest updates. Gemini has been integrated as the system’s default assistant, while Gemini Nano 4 enables fully offline, on-device intelligence. The new AppFunctions framework modularizes app capabilities into AI-accessible tools. At the same time, Compose First has been established as the official preferred approach, while the View system has formally entered maintenance mode. On the toolchain side, Android Studio now deeply integrates AI to learn team conventions and analyze performance, while Android CLI exposes new interfaces that allow external AI agents to directly invoke core IDE capabilities.

Designed for independent Android developers and prototyping engineers, this session will offer a deep dive into the core technologies behind Google AI Studio, Gemma 4, and Antigravity 2.0. We will demonstrate how to rapidly generate native Android app prototypes in the browser with AI Studio, seamlessly migrate cloud-based prototypes into a local IDE using Antigravity 2.0, and leverage the offline Gemma 4 model to automatically perform code performance analysis and refactoring. The session will show how to efficiently complete the full development loop from initial idea to on-device implementation.
