About this event

Hi Everyone!

We hope everyone had a great holiday break. We definitely did! GDG Central Virginia ended 2016 on an upswing with the resounding success of our very first DevFest conference, which was hosting as it's own track within edUi Conference in Charlottesville, VA. We had over 100 people attend our DevFest sessions, and got some great support from the North American Google Developer Group network!

We are pleased to announce the first of an exciting series of events starting in 2017. These events will be located at The UVA Corner at OpenGrounds during the day time and lunch will be provided! Seats are limited so register early so we know how much to order from the caterer.

Meetup for January 19, 2017:

Google Developer Expert Jonathan Garbee will be back giving a talk about the Payment Request API: "Converting customers doesn't need to be a cumbersome process. The Chrome team has introduced the Payment Request API to help developers by providing a vendor-driven experience. This allows you to get payment information in a seamless way and give customers a consistent experience across sites. Come learn about how to integrate this API to provide your customers with a seamless shopping experience."

After this talk we are going to take a quick walk over to the Claude Moore Health Sciences Library @ UVA to check out Google Tilt Brush (if you have not experienced this yet you have got to try it! This will be a demo that will lead into follow up Meetups about developing with Google Tilt Brush and Google Cardboard.

Stay warm!
