[Goran Minov] Mastering Agent Evaluation: Benchmark, Grade, and Optimise with agents-cli	Building an agent prototype is straightforward, but proving it is resilient enough for production is where enterprise projects stall. How do you objectively score non-deterministic tool calls, prevent trajectory drift, and eliminate hallucinations before deploying to Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform? In this practical session, we deconstruct the agent evaluation lifecycle using agents-cli and the GenAI Eval SDK. We will explore the end-to-end quality flywheel: from synthesising multi-turn eval datasets and executing test harnesses with eval generate, to scoring execution traces against custom rubrics with eval grade. You will learn how to diagnose failures, run regression diffs using eval compare, and continuously refine agent behaviour with automated prompt optimisation.
[Bianca Ximenes] The current status of AI agents: understanding the meaning behind (alleged) hacking, sentience, and system intent	Headlines keep announcing an AI system hacked something, became conscious, or acted with intent, most recently the Dawkins/Claude consciousness episode. This separates the actual mechanics of agentic AI, tool use, context, memory, from the anthropomorphized story told about them, drawing on published research into how users end up co-authoring the outputs they're asked to audit. A grounded read on what today's agents can and can't do, and why the sentience and hacking narratives spread so easily but that doesn't mean AI is out to get us!
[Jai Campbell] Building immersive gaming experiences with Gemini and Gemma AI	This session explores how generative AI can transform NPCs from basic scripted bots into dynamic, adaptive characters using the Agent Development Kit (ADK), Gemini, Gemma, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Through practical examples, the session will demonstrate how large language models can enable dynamic conversations, real-time reactions, and responses to voice, video, or emotion. It will also cover procedural dialogue, real-time behavior modulation, environmentally-aware logic, and personality and memory through vector memory and narrative conditioning. By combining LLMs with real-time inference, developers can move beyond rigid dialogue trees and create characters that learn, adapt, and evolve with the game, opening new possibilities for more immersive and responsive gaming experiences.
Closing	The hackathon challenge will be revealed at the closing session.
