About this event

Exciting news this month! We've teamed up with Praxis Engineering to host our first monthly meetup outside the city!!! This months talks will be at Black Flag Brewing Company in Columbia, MD. Also note that we've moved the day of the week to Tuesday. Doors open at 4:30PM but the talks will start at 5:30PM.

This month we'll be having two talks:

James Starkey from Praxis Engineering will be giving a two part talk on Kubernetes, titled "Kubernetes: Container Orchestration for the Enterprise."

With the evolution of using container solutions (such as Docker) as the way to do software development, a new problem has come about, Container Sprawl.  Kubernetes is an open source product inspired and informed by Google's experiences and internal systems to manage and coordinate those containers.  We briefly discuss some basics of a Kubernetes system and lessons learned from implementing a Kubernetes cluster.

Cody Henthorne from GDG Baltimore will be giving an introductory talk on hobbyist 3D printing titled, "Printing Your Imagination: 3D Printing 101".

A special thanks to this month's sponsor Praxis Engineering. Praxis is sponsoring the location, food, and drink. Here's a note from them and some of the extra perks the partnership brings our community:

FREE food and drinks will be available throughout the evening along with chances to win one of a few gift cards (Must be present to win)! Bring your friends/colleagues/cubemates out to learn about this exciting topic, as well as, mingle with some of the most talented engineers in the industry!
