Speaker: Rudy Parra

Rudy Parra works at the intersection of hardware and software in New Mexico's clean energy industry. He is a Senior Electrical Lab Technician at GridFlow, where the team develops vanadium redox flow batteries for long-duration energy storage, and the Lead Software Developer at Pii Energy, building consumer-friendly solar and battery systems.

In this talk, Rudy will share his experience building the Pii Energy app, featuring room-based smart outlet control, live energy meter data, and dashboards that help users understand where their power is going.

He'll also discuss what it really takes to take a product from the lab bench to customers while working on a small team, and the lessons he's learned developing software for hardware you can actually hold.
