Therapy is fifty minutes a week. The other six days — check-ins, exercises between sessions, notes, scheduling, the summary the therapist writes at 11pm — are where software can help, and where an agent earns its place.
This session builds a therapy support app, live, on synthetic data. A client logs a check-in; the agent records it, notices a pattern across the week, suggests the exercise their therapist assigned, and drafts a pre-session summary — which the therapist reviews before it's ever shown as clinical.
Gemini decides the next step. MCP provides the tools — check-in log, exercise library, scheduling, note drafting — each a plain function with a schema, auditable on its own. AG-UI streams every tool call and result into a live run view, so both the client and the clinician can see exactly what the system did with that data.
The agent never counsels anyone. Any sign of risk stops it and hands to a human. That boundary is the architecture.
